Controlled happiness. That’s the feeling Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron, the third-seeded pair at the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1, conveyed—first in their on-court celebration (especially Lebron) and then in the press conference following their extraordinary victory over the world’s number one pair, Coello-Tapia. On the eve of the tournament’s final act, Stupa doesn’t hold back: “I’m very happy and extremely focused. During the match, I occasionally thought about how I would celebrate if we won, but I quickly pushed that thought aside to stay concentrated. We’re in the final, and we don’t want to stop,” says Stupaczuk, who continues: “Today, we worked really well, learning from our mistakes and focusing on our strengths, always keeping in mind that against phenomenal players like Coello and Tapia, you can’t afford to give them anything. We were solid, and tomorrow we want to do it again.”
The final against Galan and Chingotto promises to be a close battle, but Stupa and Lebron have already analyzed their opponents: “Today, we watched their match and will target their weaknesses. We’ll find those weak spots, even if they are few, and work on them. But our mental approach remains the same: focusing on our own game.” Looking at the pair’s development, Lebron has a clear vision: “We’re only in our third tournament of the season. Our immediate goal is to reach number two in the ranking with a lot of hard work, while the number one spot is a long-term goal. We have great confidence; I have a partner I get along with, and there is harmony between us. We are thrilled to have reached our third final of 2025, and we are focused and determined.”
Stupa is even more optimistic, setting his sights on the number one ranking: “It’s tough, but there’s definitely an opportunity. I have a partner who was number one for a long time, and he always pushes me to give my best. We put in a lot of preparation before the start of the season, and it’s paying off, as our three consecutive finals prove.” Lebron is feeling great, and it showed again tonight: “I feel in shape, especially mentally. After a tough year, I’m improving both physically and psychologically. I’ve learned a lot from my past mistakes, which were my fault. The past is the past; now I’m trying to enjoy every moment and stay in top physical shape. What do I think now? That I can improve even more.” The relentless Lobo.
