Ignacio Piotto and Mario Del Castillo made a comeback qualification, overcoming Vasquez/Geens with a 4-6 7-6 6-1 win, and will now challenge Goenaga/Zapata.
Marc Quilez and Anton Sans also advanced, defeating Ramirez/Melendez 6-3 6-1 (they now face Rubio/Lijo), while Denis Perino and Mario Huete moved forward after Santigosa/Lamperti retired in the second round. The Italo-Spanish duo will debut in the main draw against the Deus brothers
In the women’s qualifiers, Laura Lujan and Carla Mesa achieved their goal, advancing after a 6-4 6-4 win over Sandra Bellver and Lea Godallier, setting up a high-level match against Sainz/Llaguno. Laia Rodriguez and Raquel Eugenio also progressed with a 6-3 6-1 win over Borrero/Polo, setting up a clash with Saiz/Lobo. Marta Barrera and Marta Caparros dominated Manquillo/Martinez 6-3 6-0 and will face Aguilar/Navarro next. Meanwhile, Melania Merino and Agueda Perez defeated home players Adamowich/Petrauskaite (6-1 6-2) and will take on Talavan/Sharifova.
