An all-American showdown with a guaranteed outcome: a U.S. pair will advance to the second round of the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1. Awaiting them will be the tournament’s 12th-seeded duo, Spain’s Jairo Bautista (ranked No. 22 in the FIP rankings) and Francisco Guerrero (world No. 21), winners of the 2024 CUPRA FIP Finals.
Competing for this historic Premier Padel opportunity are Nico Agritelley and Vinny Di Francesco, who will face off against the cousin duo of Matias Segura and Aaron Segura. The two pairs will face off on Tuesday afternoon, on the Central Court of the Miami Beach Convention Center.
All four players received wild cards for Miami and were part of Team USA at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha, where the U.S. secured a commendable 13th-place finish—a clear sign of padel’s growth in the United States.
Born in 2006, Vinny Di Francesco is undoubtedly one of the most exciting prospects in the American NextGen. Currently ranked No. 384 in the world, he has delivered strong performances on the CUPRA FIP Tour, partnering with 17-year-old Argentine Mateo Alvarez. Making his Premier Padel debut, Di Francesco was one of the youngest players at last year’s World Championships.
Agritelley primarily competes on the national circuit, holding the No. 5 spot in the U.S. rankings, and recently claimed the 2024 Nox USPA Circuit Master Finals title. Together, Agritelley and Di Francesco are playing a crucial role in the development of U.S. padel.
On the other side of the net, their national teammates and frequent training partners, Matias and Aaron Segura, will be looking to make their mark. Matias Segura represented the U.S. for the third time at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha. His cousin, Aaron Segura, showcased his talent by winning the first category at the 2024 Pan American Cat Libres Championships. This marked his third consecutive year competing internationally for Team USA.
All four players are key figures in the rapid rise of American padel. While the outcome of this Miami showdown remains uncertain, one thing is clear: the action on the courts of the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1 promises to be nothing short of spectacular.
